Where to Eat
Within easy walking distance of Catlins Retreat is Lumberjack
Bar & Cafe which is well known throughtout the south for
its good food and atmosphere. The restaurant has a timber and
sawmilling theme based on the numerous saw mills that were in
the Catlins in the early 1900s.
The Catlins Cafe in Owaka's Main Street is just a short walk
from Catlins Retreat. See the cafe's web site at Catlin's Cafe for details of their current
dinner menu. The cafe also has a children's menu.
There is also the Catlins Inn and associated Ryley's Cafe &
Bar next door in Owaka where you can enjoy lunch and dinner.
